As I had posted earlier, this shoot with Lara in Salisbury was a lot of fun. Casey, my lovely bride-to-be, assisted me on the shoot and I couldn’t do it without her. Lara is a graduate of Catawba College and wanted some images to remind her of her time spend at Catawba. She is very much awesome and she has a bright future in front of her.

FxCamera
So I found this great little app on the Android Market that replaces the standard, not-so-great Droid camera app. The app is called FxCamera and it is the closet thing Droid has to “The Best Camera” iPhone app. With FxCamera, you can choose numerous different settings like “Toy Camera”, which will give you Lomo & Holga type images, “Polaroid”, “Fisheye” and a classic “Warhol” effect. I have only really used the “Toy” settings but have really enjoyed the images that come out of it. For the next few months, I’m going to have a series of posts showcasing images taken with the app.
I don’t always carry my 5D with me due to the bulk and inconvenience but I do always have my Droid on me and as Chase Jarvis would say, “The best camera is the one you have with you.”

February is for love and studio sessions
It’s been a while.
I have been super bogged down with projects galore and I thought I would give everyone a sneak peak at one of those projects. Here are a few images from a series I am working on currently for an exhibition later this year. This was a very fun shoot to put on. Both models are very lively, cheerful ladies and working with them was a honor. There will be several more of this images coming soon. Stay tuned.
This image was isn’t actually part of the series but I thought I would include it for good measure.

Matt Powell is a good friend of mine as well as a humanitarian photographer. I usually keep up with all of his work and just today he has published more work from a recent trip to Bangladesh.

Tilt Shifts Rock
A good Tilt Shift lens is a great substitution for a view camera. This video really makes me want to purchase one.

Myrtle Beach Sneak Peek
I was able to shoot a wedding this past weekend in Myrtle Beach, SC. Now I say I shot a wedding at the beach, but what I should say is I shot a wedding on the beach. It was more than beautiful. Weddings like this one, where the couple are so in love with each other, are always so much fun to shoot because the bride and groom are completely wrapped up in one another that they don’t even notice the photographer. I’ll be posting more images soon. Until then, here is a sneak peek.
